Commonwealth Games 800m champion Mary Moraa continued her dominance in the women 800m as she stormed to victory with a meeting record at the Memoriał Kamili Skolimowskiej held on Sunday (16) in Silesia, Poland.
The 23 year-old grabbed her third 800m win of the season with a season’s best and a meeting record time of of 1:56.85.
Moraa who remains undefeated over the two laps in 2023, was followed by former World Outdoor 800m champion Halimah Nakaayi who improved her Ugandan National Record to 1:57.78 to finish second with the 2018 Commonwealth Games 800m bronze medallist Natoya Goule -Toppin wrapping up the podium three places in 1:57.90.
“I am satisfied with the race and the win. I controlled the race from the front. My aim was to go in front from the starting point and it worked. At the World Championships I want to finish on the podium. I will run the 400m in Monaco and then go home to prepare for Budapest,” said Moraa.
