Kenya’s Victor Chepkwony, never lived to the race expectations as he was beaten to second place at the edition of the VnExpress Marathon Marvelous Nha Trang, held on Sunday (13) in Nha Trang, Vietnam.
The 27-year-old runner who was regarded as the race favorite and came to this race with a life time best of 2:19.32 that he got at the 2019 Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon, failed to lower the race course record of is 2:30.03 that was set this year by his compatriot, Ezekiel Kemboi.

Chepkwony was forced to finish in a disappointing second place eight minutes later behind the eventual winner Hiroki Nakajima from Japan in 2:33.54.
