World Cross Country champion Beatrice Chebet set a new 3000m Meeting Record at the Bislett Games held on Thursday (15) night in Oslo, Norway.
The 23 year-old dominated the entire race as she led a 1-2-3 Kenyan podium when crossing the finish line and crashing the 24 years Meet Record with a World Leading time of 8:25.01 with Lilian Kasait Rengeruk, who is fresh from her ten month doping ban, announcing her return with a bang in a new personal best of 8:25.90.
World 5000m silver medallist Margaret Chelimo closed the podium three finishes in a season best of 8:26.14.
North American record holder for the 10,000m Alicia Monson from the United States finished in fourth with Eritrean born now trading for America, Frezghi Weini Kelati finishing in fifth place in respective time of 8:29.43 (SB) and 8:32.50 (PB).
World Cross Country bronze medallist, Agne Jebet Ngetich and Africa Senior 10,000m Champion, Caroline Nyaga came home in seventh and eighth place in a time of 8:32.62 (PB) and 8:43.85 ((SB) respectively.
