Kenya’s Winfridah Moraa Moseti took the top honors at the 6th edition of the Bucharest International Half Marathon that was held on Sunday (17) at the King Mihai I Park (Herastrau Park) in Bucharest, Romania.
Moraa went ahead from the gun but was closely followed by Birtukan Workineh from Ethiopia and her compatriot Rebbeca Tanui who out did each other till the 17km mark when Moseti increased her pace, pulling away from the two.
The 25 year-old who came to this race with the fastest time on paper of 1:07.22 that she got early this month at the Madrid Half Marathon used her experience in the eight half marathons she has taken part in to lift this title in 1:07.43.
“the race was tough and I am so happy for this win,” said Moseti.
Moseti was followed by Workineh who crossed the line in second place three seconds later.
Tanui was left with no option but to settle in third place with a time a of 1:12.23.
