Uganda’s Victor Kiplangat ran away with the 43rd edition of the Istanbul Marathon that was held on Sunday (7) in Istanbul, Turkey.
The battle was drawn between the two Countries at the 35km mark as they pulled away from the group remaining four athletes., Two Kenyans,Robert Kipkemboi and Moses Kemei and two Ugandans, Kiplangat and Solomon Mutai.
The 21 years-old who was making his marathon debut was two strong for the three cutting the tape a personal best of 2:10.18.
He was closely followed by Kipkemboi who crossed the line five seconds later with Kemei closing the first three podium finishes in 2:10.28
