The Commonwealth Games marathon champion, Victor Kiplagat has withdrawn from the 17th edition of the Kampala Marathon that will be held on Sunday (20) in Kampala, Uganda.
The 23 year-old who opened Uganda’s account in Birmingham by comfortably winning the men’s 42km marathon gold, recently received a brand new Renault Koleos from President Yoweri Museveni for being the first Ugandan to win the medal country.
Kiplagat was forced to pull out of the race after his management requested him train and prepare for a high profile 21km race that will be held next month in India.`
The 2017 World Mountain Running Champion, who is also the reigning Runners’ Lab Half Marathon champion, trades under the Quercia Trentingrana Club that is based in the United States.
