Kenya’s Vibian Chepkirui took the top honors at the 41st edition of the Beijing Marathon held on Sunday (29) in Beijing, China.
The 29 year-old who came to this race with a life time best of 2:20.59 that she got last year at the Vienna City Marathon where she took the honors, led a Kenya clean sweep on the podium at the fourth most-polluted major city in the world on Sunday, according to Swiss air-quality technology firm IQAir, when she cut the tape in a time of 2:21.57 with Janet Ruguru coming home in second place.
The 2015 World Marathon silver medallist, Helah Kiprop wrapped up the podium three finishes with China’s Lu Ying finishing in fourth in 2:27.49.
