Ethiopia’s Yemane Tsegay and Tigist Tufa the will return to the 44th edition of the Scotiabank Ottawa Marathon that will be held on the May 27 in Ottawa, Ontario Canada.
Tsegay and Tigist are the course record holders that they set in 2014.
Tufa who set the course record of 2:24.31 in 2014 went on to win the 2015 London Marathon to end four years of Kenyan domination.
Tsegay’s 2014 course record of 2:06.54 also broke the Canadian soil record that year. He came in 2nd at the 2015 Boston Marathon the following April.
Last year’s edition was won by Eliud Kiptanui from Kenya who pulled 2:10.14 with the women title going to Ethiopian Guteni Imana who cut the tape in 2:30.18.
