Africa 100m champion, Ferdinand Omanyala led team Kenya as it smashed the 100m record at the ongoing 22nd edition of the Africa Senior Athletics championships in Reduit, Mauritius.
The record breaking quartet which consisted of Omanyala, Samuel Imeta, Mike Mokamba and Dan Kiviasi, erased the old Kenyan Record of 39.40 that was set in 2015 in Nairobi by Simon Kimaru, Anderson Mureta, Stephen Baraza and Kipkemoi Soi, with a new Kenyan National Record of 39.28 seconds.
South Africa quartet led by the second fastest man in the continent, Akani Simbine came home in second place with a time of 39.79 while Zimbabwe finished in third place in 39.81 seconds.
