Kakamega Forest Marathon Cancelled

This year’s Kakamega Forest Marathon has been canceled due to raging Covid-19 Pandemic in the country and in particular in the counties that our participating elite athletes as well as the technical support come from.

The race Chief Executive Officer George Murila said, “We as Organizers do not have the capacity to have both the athletes and the technical staff tested, isolated or bubble accommodated etc.

We look forward with hope to having the 6th edition in 2022 when the health situation in the country will have sufficiently improved.”

We regret this difficult decision and appeal to all stake holders in the event to bear with us. Murila concluded.

The 2019 edition won by Mathew Kemboi and Judith Korir which was the last physical race as the 2020 was cancelled due to the pandemic.
