Ernest Tarus wins the 2021 Ljublana Marathon

Kenya’s Ernest Kibet Tarus won the 25th edition of the Ljublana Marathon that was held on Sunday (24) in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Tarus took charge of the race from the 35km mark and he went on cutting the tape in 2:22.39. He was followed a distant later by Marko Ranković from Serbia who crossed the line four minutes twenty seconds later.

“I am satisfied with the run, I did my best. There were no major crises, the hardest was around the 29km. I like Ljubljana, the track as well, because it allows fast running. Maybe I’ll come back,” Tarus said after winning the marathon

The home grown Janez Mulej closed the first three podium finishes in 2:28.07

Grace Kwamboka wins the 2021 Ljublana Marathon

Kenya’s Grace Momanyi Kwamboka ran a solo race from the 25km to win the 25th edition of the Ljublana Marathon that was held on Sunday (24) in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Kwamboka cut the tape in 2:38.10 and was followed seven minutes later by Slovenian Anja Fink.

“A good, fairly fast course that allows for good times. I didn’t have any problems, it was just a little cold at first, but the longer we were on the track, the better the conditions were. Thank you for inviting me. I would defend my return “Maybe then I’ll run even faster,” said the absolute winner.

Hungary’s Barbara Molnar closed the first three podium finishes in 2:55.18.
