Eastern New Mexico University Athlete, Silvestre Kibarar from Kenya has passed on through a tragic road accident that happened on Friday (7) in Portales New Mexico.
Kibarar schooled at Tarakwa Secondary School before joining The Mexico University. Kibarar comes from a family of John Kibarar and Jane Kibarar who were blessed with eight children (five brothers and two sisters).
Kibarar doubled in the 3,000-meters and the 5,000-meters the 2020 NJCAA Indoor Track & Field Championship. He won the 3,000-meters at the 2020 NJCAA Region VI Indoor Championship and finished third in the 5,000-meters. He also recorded personal bests in the mile, 3,000 and 5,000 at the regional championship.
He was pursuing an associate’s degree in nursing at Hutchinson community College and was planning to major in Interdisciplinary Health Studies/Pre-Nursing.
The family has opened a Gofund account and they are requesting for help towards bringing him home for the burial ceremony.
