Ezekiel Kemboi shifts to Marathon

Three times world 3000m steeplechase champion Ezekiel Kemboi has officially shifed his focus to running marathons from next season.

The track master started his athletics career in 2002 said he has done enough in track but wants to face another challenge in marathon running.
“I have achieved what many athletes in the world have not achieved on track. I have won all major world championships in my category and this is the new challenge I want to venture in,” said the former Olympic Games champion.
With his focus to compete in marathon come 2019 in Europe, Kemboi, without naming the raw title said he is optimistic for clinching his first marathon.
“I have run 10km across the world winning seven of them, meaning I have a great future in road running. Before competing in marathon, I will compete in few half marathons as part of endurance for the April marathon,” added Kemboi.
Speaking during the Isuzu D-max handover to world marathon record holder Eliud Kipchoge in Eldoret, Kemboi said they started running together and has an opportunity to showcase the world that Kenya is running nation.
“Kipchoge has been great on both track and marathon, meaning his achievements can be tracked same like me,” added Kemboi.
