World U18 bronze medallist, Edinah Jebitok will be the star to watch at the 37th edition of the Indoor Meeting Karlsruhe which will be the first of this season’s seven World Indoor Tour Gold meetings, which will be held on Friday, January 28 in Karlsruhe, Germany.
Jebitok is fresh from winning the Cross Internacional de Venta de Banos in December last year and she will face off with 2014 Commonwealth Games 800m bronze medallist Winnie Nanyondo from Uganda who comes to this race with a superior time 4:06.13 with the latter having a personal best of 4:09.46.
The 20 year-old will also battle the 2014 World Indoor silver medallist Champion, Axumawit Embaye who has the fastest time on paper of 4:02.92 and Freweyni Gebreezibeher who holds a personal best of 4:05.91. Both are from Ethiopia.
Other athletes chasing the mantle include Spain’s Esther Guerrero and Ethiopia’s Hirut Meshesha both holding personal bests of 4:07.47 and 4:09.42 respectively.
