Kenya’s Simon Njeri took the top honors at the Verona Marathon held on Sunday (20) in Verona, Italy.
The 34 year-old who came to this race with the fastest time on paper of 2:14.50 that he got last year at Mytho Marathon, never faced a stiff competetion as he ran the second part of the race solo cutting the tape in a time of 2:18.47.
Switzerland’s Lucien Epiney who was second at this race last year, came home over nine minutes later while equaling his personal best of 2:27.59.
United States Dan Kelly closed the podium three finishes in a time of 2:29.49.
