Shock as Agnes Tirop is found dead

Shock has gripped the Athletics world as the 2019 World bronze medallist champion; Agnes Tirop has been found dead this morning.

Tirop who recently smashed the 10km women at Road to Records last month has passed away in an explained circumstance that has left everyone in shock.

The 2015 World Cross Country Champion was found this morning at her Iten home with stab wounds in the abdomen.

Her passing comes just two months after she finished fourth for her country at the Games. Her death has been confirmed by the Youth and Development officer, Barnabas Korir, who is also the Nairobi Branch chairman.

The 25 year-old slashed 28 seconds from the 19-year-old women-only mark for 10km as she clocked 30:01 breaking the 2002 record that had been set by Asmae Leghzaoui from Moroccan.
