Senayet Getachew lowers Cynthia Chemweno course record in Porto

Ethiopia’s Senayet Getachew smashed the Porto half marathon course record on Sunday (18) in Porto, Portugal.

Getachew led 1-2 Ethiopian podium finish as she erased the old course record of 1:09.23 that had been set by Monica Jepkoech from Kenya in 2017 with a new course record of 1:08.37. Her compatriot Aynadis Mebrit crossed the line in second in 1:09.39.

Kenya’s Cynthia Chemweno was forced to settle in third spot in a time of 1:09.56.
