French international Sasha Zhoya set a new world under 20 championships 110m hurdles record during the World U20 championships in at the Kasarani stadium in Nairobi, Kenya.
The multi-nation athlete, who ran with the world lead in July this year during the French Junior Championships in Bondoufle France, ran away with the world record in the hurdles timing 12:19 bringing down fellow Frenchman’s Wilhem Belocian world record set in 2014 standing at 12.99 seconds.
The 19 year-old, who has roots in both Australian-Zimbabwean humid to storm to the finish line of the 110m hurdle race with fastest time ever, setting a new World U20 Record of 12.93.

“I have been waitin the championships for so long, so it is fantastic to get going. The subsequent race will be very crucial for my build up to the finals. I am not very much concerned with the time because my target is to win gold in the finals. Also as a European champion, the weight of expectations will not weigh me down.” Zhoya said.
He was followed by John Paredes from Colombia who also ran a personal best of 13.46 with Hong Kongs Siu Hang Cheung running away with their National Record in 13.57.
