Samuel Kipyegon, the father of double world record holder Faith Chepngetich Kipyegon was a happy man after receiving his first vehicle in life time.
While receiving the vehicle on Saturday evening courtesy of Rana Auto Selection, the old Kipyegon said that he used to ride a motorcycle but never owned any vehicle in his life and the blessings came in late.
“This is my first vehicle in my life that has come in my old age but I have to thank my daughter for running across the world to bring such glory to me and the family,” said Kipyegon.
The vehicle came in handy after Faith had promised on Monday that the cash awards she received at State House Nairobi from President William Ruto that she will buy her father a new car.
Faith said that the dream has come to be accomplished with the new car being offered to her father after the promise.
“When I was at State House, I promised the president and the entire country that I was going to buy my father a new car from the proceeds of the presidential award but Rana Auto Selection saw it good to reward my dad. I am emotional and so happy that my dad will now drive his own car,” said Faith.
The Rana Chief Executive Officer Sultan Rana said it is good to celebrate athletes when they perform well.
“At this point, we could not hide our joy but to celebrate the young lady who has brought fame to this country. As a company, we saw the need to secure a car for her dad after she had promised and we wanted to accomplish her dream,” said Rana.
