Kenya’s Rodah Tanui went into the history books once again as she destroyed the race course record at the38th edition of the Buenos Aires Marathon held on Sunday (24) in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The 32 year-old who came to this race with the fastest time on paper of 2:23.14 that she got in May this year at the Copenhagen Marathon where she took the honors, won her third race here and also her third marathon of the year as she smashed her own course record of 2:25.46 with a new course record of 2:24.52.
Tanui who led a 1-2-3- Kenyan podium finish was followed by Sharon Jemutai Cherop in second in 2:24.56 with Pamela Jepkosgei Rotich wrapping up the podium three finishes a distant later in a time of 2:27.37.
Ethiopia’s Aamelamal Birara Tagel and Tigist Bikila Deme finished in fourth and fifth in respective times of 2:28.09 and 2:30.37.
