Kenya’s Risper Chebet ran away with the women title at the Malaga Marathon held on Sunday (11) in Malaga, Spain.
The 30 year-old who finished at eighteenth place in September at the Berlin Marathon, ran the last quarter of the race solo taking an easy win in a time of 2:26.13 with Ethiopia’s Birke Debele Beyene coming home two minutes later in 2:28.13.
The 2015 European 3,000m steeplechase Junior bronze medallist, Alisa Vainio closed the podium three finishes in a new personal best of 2:28.41.
Kenya’s Caroline Cheptanui Kilel, who was the oldest elite athlete with Zimbabwe’s Fortunate Chidzivo came home in fourth and fifth a time of 2:29.11 and 2:35.05 respectively.
