After taking the honors at the Campaccio-International Cross Country last Friday, the inform Rahel Daniel was at it again beating the defending champion, Edinah Jebitok at the 79th edition of the Elgoibar Juan Muguerza Cross Country championships held on Sunday (8) in Elgóibar, Spain.
The 21 year-old beat a strong deep elite field that included the reigning World 10,000m bronze medallist, Margaret Chelimo Kipkemboi, Olympic Games 800m silver medallist, Francine Niyonsaba, the 2017 World U18 bronze medallist, Jebitok and the 2018 Asian Games 3000m steeplechase champion, Winfred Yavi.
Rahel who finished fifth in the 10,000m at the World Athletics Championships, pulled away from the three at the final stages of the race to cut the tape first in a time of 25:45 and was followed by Jebitok eight seconds later with Yavi closing the podium three finishes fifteen seconds later.
Kipkembo and Niyonsaba came home in fourth and fifth place respectively.
