Kenya’s Priscah Jeptoo will be the star to watch at the 45th edition of the Paris Marathon, that will be held on Sunday (17) in Paris, France.
The 2012 Olympic Games silver medallist champion comes to this race with a personal best of 2:20.14 that she got at the 2012 London Marathon, where she finished in third place.
The 37 year-old is the fastest athlete on paper and she will not have an easy race as she will face Wagnesh Mekasha and Sifan Melaku both from Ethiopia. Mekasha comes to this race with a personal best of 2:22.45 that she got at the 2019 Dubai Marathon while Melaku holds a personal best of 2:23.49 that she got at the Seville marathon in February 2020.
Another Ethiopian Tigist Memuye has also been added to the list and carries on her shoulder a personal best of 2:24.23 that she got at the Harmony Geneva Marathon in May this year.
The three have been put together to target the race course record of 2:20.55 that was set by Purity Cherotich from Kenya in 2017
