President William Ruto has renamed Kericho Green stadium as Kipkurgut Chumo stadium during Friday’s Mashujaa Day celebrations held the facility in Kericho County.
The late Chumo, was the first Kenyan to win an Olympic Medal for the country at the 1968 Olympic games and died last year aged 84.
“Allow me to celebrate Kiprugut Chumo , the first Kenyan to win an Olympic medal by renaming the Kericho Green Stadium,” he said.
