Kenya’s Ezekiel Omullo won the 6th edition of the Warsaw marathon that was held on Sunday (22) in Warsaw, Poland.
Omullo who has so far won three marathons in Warsaw after prior wins in autumns managed to cut the tape in 2:11.17 leaving the course record of 2:08.17 that was set by another Kenyan John Kibet in 2011 intact.
Omullo was closely followed by his fellow country mate Felix Kimutai, who was defending champion but managed second place this time round when he crossed the line twenty four seconds later.
Ethiopia’s Herpasa Negasa Kitesa closed the podium three position in 2:11.46.
Yared Shegumo, an Ethiopian-born runner who switched his allegiance to Poland and also represented them at the Rio Olympics, was the fastest Pole, finishing the race sixth in 2:13.53.
