Former Commonwealth Games bronze medallist, Natoya Goule set the fastest time in the world in women 800m race at the at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix that was held on Sunday (6) night at the Ocean Breeze Athletics Complex on Staten Island, in New York.
Goule the indoor and outdoor record holder went through the 400m in 58.16 and held her lead until she cut the tape in world-leading time of 1:59.33.
“I was expecting to go under the 2 minutes barrier. It was a great run. I have been training hard this week, and I can run faster. This time I went out and controlled it. Last week my coach was not happy. He said: ‘you have to get out”, said Goule.
The 30 year-old was followed closely by United States Olivia Baker who studied biology at Stanford with plans to attend medical school and become a neurosurgeon took the second spot in a personal best of 2:00.33.
The 2019 European U20 Champion, Isabelle Boffey closed the podium finishes in a personal best of 2:01.37.
