Miriam Chebet took the top honors in the inaugural Iten 10km Road Race that was held on Saturday (18) in Iten, Elgeyo Marakwet County.
The race was organised by the Agnes Tirop’s Angels Foundation, Athletics Kenya and the French Embassy in Kenya, where the France ambassador Aline Kuster-Menager was the chief guest. which is also part of preparations for the 2024 Olympic Games.
Chebet who moved to Iten last year, crossed the finish line in a time of 32:54.06 and she was followed by Cynthia Chemweno who pulled 33:1508 with Millicent Kemboi completing the podium three finishes in 34:05.
Brenda Tuwei and Cynthia Chemjor came home in fourth and fifth in a time of 34:08.01 and 34:10.07 respectively.
