The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) has provisionally suspended Michael Kunyuga Njenga for the Presence/Use of a Prohibited Substance (norandrosterone) which is a breach of the World Athletics Anti-Doping Rules.
Njenga used the banned substance Norandrosterone which is a product of nandrolone, an anabolic androgenic steroid known to accelerate muscle growth and recovery.
The 35 year-old holds a personal best of 2:06.43 that he got at the 2020 Zurich Marathón where he finished in position five.
The Kenyan athletes who are now banned according to AIU website has increased to fifty with seven athletes provisionally suspended awaiting their sentencing in due course.
Kenya is still in Category A which means it is at the highest doping risk, along with Ethiopia, Morocco, Nigeria, Bahrain, Belarus, and Ukraine.
