World Under 18 400m silver medalist Mary Moraa will be the star to watch at the second leg of Athletics Kenya (AK) Cross Country Championships that will be held on Saturday (13) in Iten, Elgeyo Marakwet County.
The 800m Tokyo Olympian will be setting the pace for other athletes, both elite and untested ahead of world cross country tour.
The AK North Rift region secretary Boniface Tiren said that they are expecting over 1,000 athletes because of the nature of the county.
“This is the county that has produced top runners and an event will be coming home to its owners. This day will be great among the locals as well as internationals who train here,” said Tiren .
The event will attract seven events; will include 10km senior men and women, 8km junior men, 6km junior women, 5km under 18 women and 6km under 18 men and mixed relays.
