Commonwealth Games 800m champion, Mary Moraa will make her debut at the ORLEN Copernicus Cup, a World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold series that will be held on Wednesday (08) in Torun, Poland.
The 22 year-old who is also a World Bronze medallist will face-off with her fiercest rival, Olympic 800m silver medallist, Keely Hodgkinson from Britain and and the World U20 800m champion, Diribe Welteji from Ethiopia, who was placed fourth at the World championship in Oregon.
The three will not have an easy ride as they will have to battle the former world 800m champion, Halima Nakaayi from Uganda and the oldest athlete on the start list, Noelie Yarigo from Benin, who is also an Air force officer and was given leave to prepare for the 2016 Olympics in France.
Also on the start line is Slovenia’s Anita Horvat, who won at this season’s opening World Indoor Tour Gold meeting in Karlsruhe with a personal best of 2:00.44.
