Kenya’s Wilson Kipsang will appear as a guest runner at the 5th edition of the Tokushima Marathon that will be held on Sunday (25) in Tokushima, Japan.
Kipsang who has the fastest 4th world ranking time of all time of 2:03.13 is among the invited guests to grace the race on Sunday.
While addressing the press to put the record straight Kipsang’s management said, “ Kipsang will only be appearing at Tokushima as a guest and will not run, So he is not running. But being in great shape he should run a marathon soon”.
The race course record of 2:15.25 was set in 2014 by Yuki Kawauchi from Japan.
Over 14,200 people, 8,461 from within Tokushima prefecture, 5,558 from elsewhere in Japan and 181 from abroad, are entered in this year’s race.
