Rwanda’s Felicien Muhitira took top honors when he defended his title at the 15th edition of the Brazzaville Half Marathon that was held on Monday (13) in Brazzaville, Congo.
The 24 year-old battled his fellow country-mate Noel Hitimana and Wilson Kipsang from Kenya who pushed him to the final stages of the race but he managed to contain the two cutting the tape in 1:04.35.
The Italy-based Muhitira became the first Rwandan to win the annual competition two times in a row, a race that had previously been dominated by Kenyans since its inception in 2004.
Hitimana followed him a distant later crossing the line in 1:06.23 with Kipsang closing the podium three finishes in 1:07.50.
