Kenya’s Elkana Kibet and Beatrice Jepkorir Rutto took honors at the 14th edition of the Kigali International Peace Marathon that was held on Sunday (20) in Kigali, Rwanda.
Kibet led a 1-2-3 Kenyan finish as he cut the tape in 2:23.42 and was closely followed by Kenneth Kibet Rono who crossed the line ten seconds later.
Jones Omar Onyambu sealed the podium three finishes in 2:24.35.
In the women race Rutto battled her fellow country-mate Caroline Jeruto but the later had some energy remaining to kick and cut the tape in 2:54.01 with Jeruto crossing the line a minute twenty six seconds later.
Uganda’s Pricilla Chelangat closed the podium three in 3:07.17
