Kenya’s Nelly Chepchirchir lived up to the race expectations as she set a Meeting Record in the women 1500m title at the Memorial Istvan Gyulai in Szekesfehrvar, the penultimate Continental Tour Gold meeting of this season.
The 20 year-old who has got strides and is coached by one the best emerging coach in the business of running, the 2009 World 800m champion Janeth Jepkosgei, took the honors in a new meeting record of 4:00.18.
Chepchirchir was followed closely by her compatriot Brenda Chebet in a new personal best time of 4:01.25 with the 2018 Commonwealth Games 800m bronze medallist, Winnie Nanyondo closing the podium three finishes in a season best of 4:01.96
