Kenya closed day four events with a dismal performance as they failed to capture any medal at the 4th edition of the World Deaf Athletics Championships that are being held at the Lublin Athletics Stadium in Poland.
Kenya participated in four events; 200m Semi-final where David Omondi Wamira and Simon Gona Menza were knocked out after finishing in fourth and fifth place respectively. The second event was the women 800m race where Sharon Jeptarus Bitok and Rebecca Wankio Matiko finished in two last places with the third even being Men’s 800m where the fate was the same as Elikan Kiprop Rono, John Kiplangat Koech and Francis Francis Nyamweya finished in fourth, sixth and last places.
In the days final event, the 4x400m mixed race of Isaac Atima Tongi, Beryl Atieno Wamira, Linet Nanjala Fwamba and Simon Gona Menza finished in fourth place. The race was won by team Ukraine who claimed gold in a season best of 3:31.28 with Russia running under the RCDS flag bagging the silver also in a season best of 3:31.58 with Belarus taking home bronze in a season best of 3:35.39.
Kenya finished in fourth in 3:45.43
