Great Britain’s Keely Hodgkinson won her first major outdoor title when she clinched the women 800m gold at the European Championships on Saturday.
The 20 year-old is also the World Indoor 800m champions as well as the Olympics Games, Commonwealth Games and World Championships silver medallist.
Hodgkinson took charge of the race with 200m to go and she never looked back as she accelerated to the finish line with a time of 1:59.04.
“I think you can tell I was very happy to come here and finally get on top of the podium,” said Hodgkinson.
France’s Renelle Lamote was forced to take silver with Poland’s Anna Wielgosz claiming bronze.
