United States Julien Alfred from the University of Texas clocked a new US collegiate 60m record at the NCAA D1 Indoor Championships that were held on Friday (13) in Birmingham, Alabama.
Alfred broke Kemba Nelson record that she set year by 0.01 seconds as she clocked 7.04 seconds. The Santa Lucia native arrived at completion with a seed time of 7.12 seconds, which was the 4th fastest time among the entrants.
Jady Mays of Oregon clocked 7.09 seconds to cross the line in second place while Grace Stark closed the podium three finishes in a time of 7:10 seconds.
