Kenya’s Loice Kiptoo Jebet took the top honors at the 7th edition of the Mandela Day Marathon that was held on Sunday (26) at the historic Mandela Capture Site near Tweedie in the KZN Midlands, South Africa.
The 32 year-old came to this race with a personal best of 2:28.39 that she got last at the Daegu Marathon in South Korea.
Jebet maintain her composure and pace to cut the tape in 2:50.00.
The course record 2:47.15 that was set in 2014 by Irvete Van Zyl from South Africa remained intact.
Jebet pocketed a cool R100, 000.00.
