Uganda’s National Women record holder, Immaculate Chemutai beat a strong women elite field at the 10th edition of the Bali marathon that was held on Sunday (28) in Bali, Indonesia.
The 34 year-old broke the Uganda National record during the 2021 Xiamen marathon where she posted her personal best of 2:29.09
Chemutai who represented her country at the delayed Tokyo Olympic Games and World Championships in Oregon, took the honors in a time of 2:42.32 with the 2015 Nairobi Standard Chartered Marathon winner Elizabeth Chepkanan coming home in second in 2:42.16.
The race favorite and the reigning Maratón BP Castellón champion, Betty Jepleting closed the podium three finishes in 2:44.00.
