The four times World Champion also gave the displaced people food and cooking oil. He said he will continue to help those in need to his capability.
Gebrselassie was saddened by the continued war that is taking lives, destroying schools and health institutions as he urged the warring factions to stop this menace. “It’s a terrible state of affairs seeing people homeless with no food and shelter,” He said.
The Ethiopian legend also won the Berlin Marathon four times consecutively and also had three straight wins at the Dubai Marathon. Further to this, he won four world titles indoors and was the 2001 World Half Marathon Champion.
