Kenya’s Gladys Jemaiyo broke the race course record at the 45th edition of the Vredestein 20km de Paris held on Sunday (08) in Pont d’Iéna, Paris, France.
Jemaiyo who fought off three French women on their home soil, crashed the old course record of 1:05.01 that had been set ten years ago by her compatriot Sarah Chepchirchir with a new course record time of 1:04.30.
Jemaiyo was followed in second place by Eritrean born now trading for France, Mekdes Woldu who crossed the finish line a distant later in 1:06.16 with her compatriot Anaïs Quemener closing the podium three finishes in 1:06.57.
Two more Kenyans Lydia Korir and Judy Kemboi finished in fifth and sixth place in respective time of 1:07.16 and 1:08.42.
