Kenya’s Gideon Kipsang Kimosop will be the star to watch at the 9th edition of the River Rock Belfast Half Marathon that was held on Sunday (18) in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Kimosop who took the honors at the 2019 edition will be targeting the podium after the three-year absence due to Covid-19.
The 34 year-old had his first victory in this event back in 2015, then dominating the race from 2017 onwards before his visits for this event were put on pause after 2019.
Kimosop winning time then of 1:06.58 was some 90 seconds ahead of Eoin Hughes, with North Belfast’s John Black taking third.
Black has again entered but is unlikely to challenge Kimosop, who took victory with ease in last weekend’s Derry Half Marathon where he recorded 1:07.21.
