Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala, will be the man to watch at as he takes on Akani Simbine, at the Monaco Diamond League Meeting slated for Friday (21) in Monaco, France.
Omanyala who boasts of season best time of 9.84 will face-off the man he dethroned as the leader on the African Continent Simbine from South Africa who so far leads in the men’s standing in the Wanda Diamond League table after two wins with the latest edging out the World 100m champion, Fred Kerley from the United States.
The 26 year-old Kenyan who comes to this race with the fastest time on paper this season will target a win and revenge match after he was beaten to third the last time they met with the South African.
The two will have to get past the second fastest man in the world over the distance Yohan Blake, the fast raising World U20 100m record holder Letsile Tebogo from Botswana and NACAC 100m Champion, Ackeem Blake from Jamaica.
United States Courtney Lindsey, Germany’s Joshua Hartmann and Kishane Thomson from Jamaica will all be on the start line-up fighting for the top honors.
