Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala makes a return to the venue where he made his Indoor debut in the 60m race at 4th edition of the Meeting Miramas Métropole, a World Athletics Indoor Tour Bronze Level series that will be held on Friday (3) in Miramas, France.
The 27 year-old holds the fastest time on the continent and is the eighth fastest man of all time in the event after clocking a time of 9.77 seconds in 2021 at the Kipkeino Classic in Nairobi.
Omanyala who is the reigning Commonwealth Games 100m champion goes to this race with a National Record time in 60m of 6.57 seconds that he got last year in Lievin.
The event will also be graced by Paul Tergat , President of the National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOC-K) and Professor Judy Wakhungu , Kenyan Ambassador to France who have formalize the Kenyan delegation to preparation for the PARIS 2024 Olympic Games.
The five times World Cross Country Champion, will be the guest of honor at the Miramas Métropole meeting and as part of the meeting, an agreement between the Kenya Olympic Committee, the Bouches-du-Rhône department, the city of Miramas and the Athletic Club Miramas was signed to formalize the arrival of the Kenyan delegation with a view to preparation for the PARIS 2024 Olympic Games.
