Tokyo Olympics 400m hurdles bronze medallist, Femke Bol shattered the 50-second barrier to set the fourth fastest 400m time indoors at the Metz Moselle Athlelor, a World Athletics Indoor Tour Silver meeting, held on Saturday (11) in Metz, France.
The Triple European champion, who last weekend at the New Balance broke 500m World, ran exceptionally in her first 400m race this year, passing through 200m half way in under 24 seconds and maintaining on firmly to cross the finish line with the fourth fastest in history and the quickest since 2004 of 49.96.
The world 400m champion was followed by Ireland’s Sharlene Mawdsley in second place with a new personal best of 51.91 with Finland’s Viivi Lehikoinen closing the podium three finishes with a life time best of 52.52.
