Kenya’s Felix Kiptarus Korir and Edwin Kimosong Kisalsak sailed into the finals of the men’s 3000m race at the World Athletics U20 Championships being held in Cali, Colombia.
Kisalsak took the honors in heat two with a time of 7:55.60 and was followed by Habtom Samuel from Eritrea who crossed the line in a season best of 7:56.70 with Diriba Girma from Ethiopia coming home in third in 7:57.16.
Korir on his part won heat one race in 7:58.12 and was followed in second by Uganda’s Dan Kibet who pulled 7:59.71 with Melkeneh Azize fom Ethiopia finishing in third in 8:00.37.
Kisalsak and Korir will lead a group of fifteen athletes onto the 3000m final.
