Kenya’s Faith Kipyegon set a new 1500m Olympic record at the ongoing Tokyo 2020 games.
Kipyegon surpassed Sifan Hassan of the Netherlands in the last lap to cross the line in new personal best of 1:53.11.
She was followed closely by Britain’s Laura Muir who claimed a silver with 3:54.50, forcing the Olympic 5000m champion Hassan to take bronze in 3:55.86.
