The 2018 World Half Marathon bronze medallist, Eunice Chebichii Chumba gifted her adopted country the 10th gold medal on Thursday (05) at the 19th edition of the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
The 30 year-old took charge of the race after the 35km mark and never looked back as she surged ahead to cut the tape first in 2:26.14 with Chinese Zhang Deshun coming home in second in 2:27.55.
“The competition was very fierce and am happy to have won my country this gold medals,” said Chumba
Kazakhstan’s Sardana Trofimova wrapped up the podium three finishes.
