Ethiopia’s Sechale Dalasa took the top honors at the 44th edition of the Istanbul Marathon held on Sunday (06) in Istanbul, Turkey.
The 31 year-old is also the reigning Rome Marathon champion who carried on her shoulder a personal best of 2:26.01 that she got in May, led 1-2-3 Ethiopian podium finish as she crushed her own personal best to cut the tape in a time of 2:25.54 with Tsegaye Melesech , the fastest athlete on paper with a time of 2:24.47 that she got this year in Milan Marathon where she finished in fourth, forced to settle in second place in 2:29.01.

The 2018 Commonwealth Games 10,000m silver medallist, Stacy Ndiwa was the best placed Kenyan as she came home in fourth place in 2:31.53 with her compatriot Judith Jerubet finishing fifth in 2:32.29.
