World 800m silver medallist Emmanuel Wanyonyi stormed to a World leading time on the second and final day of the Wanda Diamond League season at the prestigious Prefontaine Classic in Oregon
The 19 year-old took down World 800m champion Marco Arop on the home straight to cut the tape first in a new personal best 1:42.80.
Arop was left with no option but to settle in second place in a new National Record and personal best of 1:42.85 with the 2022 World 800m silver medallist, Djamel Sedjati from Algeria closing the podium three finishes in a new personal best of 1:43.06.
Reigning European U23, Yanis Meziane from France and the 2017 European U23 silver medallist, Daniel Rowden from Great Britain finished in fourth and fifth in respective time of 1:43.94 (pb) and 1:44.21.
The 2018 Commonwealth Games 800m champion, Wyclife Kinyamal finished a distant ninth in 1:46.33 which is his slowest time ever.
